Another season of NJ Rookies is over. Like all the o other seasons, lot of drama. Ultimately the Disorderlys take the championship title.
Its time to ponder on what we will do now every Sunday’s. I think the last blog covers the nostalgia. This year, we miss the blogs and the Feku baba’s. But nevertheless, its time to give out the awards and identify the MVP for each team.
Our meaning of MVP is Maro Vaghri Player
Disorderly’s
The winner for NJ Rookies 2010. Well done Jim-Shilps. Please recite to us your “I’d like to Thank the academy speech”.
MVP- Steelers D and Philip Rivers (one word. Consistent and annoying. Oh wait that’s 2 words)
You can copy this one i found online
Rainbow Catchers
Shirin gets the “I have a winning Streak” award. She had an unbelievable run leading her in the finals. Brees, McFadden,Bradshaw. Super line up.
MVP- Darren McFadden. (He was un-drafted and ended up with caring the team to the finals)
P.S She got her Fav player AP at the end. Well done.
Hakuna Matata Kanda Bataka
This team gets the “Great line up but cant win the game that matters” award. Wayne, Jennings, Gates,Turner,Foster,Welker. Lot of good names. But missing the most important piece a QB and its official bye week is a jinx for the team.
MVP- Foster. A gut call that paid off well.
Team Puntars
Valmik gets the “I have no big names but I still win every week” award. Puntars has won with guys who are low key but very effective. Guys like Ocho ”sucko”, Manhandle, Lloyd (which was a great waiver pick up) and of course my fav Roth-shit-burger.
MVP- Lloyd. (This was hard to pick)
DEVISH THE SMASHERS
Vishal gets the “I want to trade TO every week for 10 players” award. Week after week he tried to trade TO but to no luck. Devish had a good line up lacked the consistency.
MVP- Jamal Gota (honorable mention TO)
Knock you down
The award for the “Why do I need waivers when I have Peyton Manning on my team” goes to Meghna. After being dormant in the middle and second to last in point scored I am surprised she has won as many games as she has. But a win is a win is a win.
MVP- Peyton Manning (no brainer)
NY Giants
“I miss my Tony Romo and my Teddy bear and my babu…” award recipient had a very interesting season. At first with the likes of Chris Johnson and Romo, I thought D would have had a better season this year. But with cutie pie Tony going down, so did the season.
MVP- CJ2K (even though at the end he made bunch of boo boo. And dare I say Romo?)
Jane Kya Hoga RAMA Re
“ I score points but so do my opponents” award is very apt for Deven. His team is a high scoring one but unfortunately for him his opponents have scored more on a given week against him as well. Great set of RB’s Jackson, McCoy,Hillis, super QB Brady but somehow missed on making the playoffs. Always missed the right starting line up.
MVP- No brainer Brady (yes Meghna you can grin)
Back to Chipolopolo
“Humara ek hi kaam, badlo humari team ka naam”. Passa has tried everything from yoga, to nameology but alas nothing worked this season. But I loved the name changing trick. It confused me every week at least.
MVP- Sebastian Janikowski (Come on how could you not name him). He has 11 points less than Miles Austin for the season, more points than Braylon Edwards, Lance Moore, Kevin Boss, Deon Branch (all of these guys are on Passa’s roster).
NJ Ayyars
“I believe I can fly, I believe I can win, I believe….” award goes to Mr.Acharya. Belief of making it to the playoffs is something he had all year (even after he missed the playoffs).
MVP- This is hard as well. Lot of mediocre and to the occasion players. But I’d say it probably would be Ray Rice and Nicks.
End Zone Diva
“I had the 12th pick in the draft” award recipient was one of the most active players in the early weeks until she turned dormant as well. I know Dev, you wanted to re-draft pretty much every week but don’t worry August 2011 is not too far.
MVP- Vick. (I can almost hear “Who let the dogs out” in the background)
_OverScore
“I made 46 acquisitions (the most in the league) and I still had a season to forget but I was active till the last day” award is for my dear friend and statistician Moor. Great Spirit despite a sucky season.
MVP- I wanna say Rogers but I think it rather be the Indy TE’s (Clark +Tamme)
So fellas, that’s a wrap for this year. It was fun. Let the tradition continue in Fall 2011.
Do put your comments on who do you think would be an MVP for your team or if you would like to nominate any team or someone for any award. use the comments section at the bottom.
First off, Congratulations Jimit & Shilpi! Enjoy this year as the reigning champion.
ReplyDeleteGood job Niral. But you forgot to mention that I still came 7th (which is also to 1st in the losers category ;))
As for MVP, There is no way Tamme gets to be MVP. After Clark went down, he was an average TE at best. The MVP is certainly Rodgers. He was the only rock solid performer I had.
As for being active, I know we all care for our own teams but it is important to remember that it is only fair that everyone be active atleast until the postseason starts. This way we are not spoiling the season for others for giving in an easy win just because they play us near the end of the season. Plus you know ... I'm obsessed with this thing :)
Great job guys.
NOW we can go back to enjoying some real football.
